How can you help?
Someone said to me once, “how is the best way to help you” I told him that by far the best way is for you to sign up to sponsor a child for only $30 USD per month. This way we know what income we have each month. This makes it possible for us to run by a budget.
So if you have some family or friends or workmates that may be interested in sponsoring, just show them our website, or request from us some flyers and hand them out. This really helps us. Please remember, EAMO is all about helping children, we do our physical work here, and you can help us do that by either supporting us, or talking to someone else about supporting us.

More Children:
Since our last E News we have taken in 30 children which is a total of 148. But not all of these are orphans. The Children’s Dept being well pleased with our home and no other homes in Nakuru district able to cater for anymore children, the Children’s Officer is calling May almost every week and sometimes daily with cases of neglected children. We have always had the Policy that we would take in only orphaned children, but of late because of this demand, we have decided that we will take in neglected children on a short term basis. Out of the 30 Children that we have taken in in the past few months 27 have been what we call “Tempory’s”. Generally the case is a case of neglect where the Magistrate will put the Father or Mother in the remand cen-tre (Prison) for anywhere between 1-6 months to teach them a lesson. Then when the parent comes out, we hand their child over to them if both the court and the Children’s Dept are satisfied that the parent will now properly care for their own child.
One case that I need to tell you about is this family of five, where these children were being neglected by the Father to the point where all 5 children were suffering from what is known here as “Jiggers”. These are little living creatures that bury themselves in the skin in the toes and fingers. They are absolutely horrible. The picture attached shows you how swollen the feet or hands become. To overcome them, you have to soak the fee and hands in Kerosene for a few days and then dip them in Dettol.
Fortunately all the five children have almost fully recovered from these little “Jiggers”.
Jiggers will grow and thrive when bathing does not take place for long periods of time and especially when there are no shoes to wear. They are highly con-tagious so they easily spread to the hands as well. All five children are so happy since arriving at EAMO. (pics left)
