In 2006 EAMO accepted its first baby, Minnie. Minnie’s mother died when she was only 6 months old and her 15 year old sister was left to care for her, which she was finding quite difficult. As a result Minnie became extremely malnourished and at risk of dying. A concerned neighbour contacted the orphanage and when May saw Minnie they took in both Minnie and her sister. Minnie arrived at the orphanage at 13 months extremely under weight. She is now 2 years old and has just started walking. The orphanage ensures that she gets the love, care, nutritional food and exercise to help her develop.
The demand for care for babies has lead to the Orphanage expanding by opening a Nursery. When the Nursery started, the hospital had 9 babies waiting for somewhere to live. The orphanage took as many babies as they could at the time and now currently cares for 10 babies between 3 months old and 2 years.

Peregrini and Gecko's Tours are the sole contributors for the nursery project. The project is now well under way. This will allow the orphanage to care for more babies.

An adventure holiday with
Peregrine is about relaxation, fulfilment, discovery, challenge, adventure and learning - as opposed to simply ticking off 'places and things' from a list. We'll visit the icons but we'll also bring you closer to local cultures and environments by involving local people in tourism. One of the very best ways we, as a tour operator, can demonstrate our commitment to responsible
travel by involving local people is by
employing leaders from the country
or region in which the tour operates.

The babies arrive at the orphanage in such a poor state. Immediately the babies are given love, care, nutritional food/formula and their medical/developmental needs are then attended to.
There are several ways you can help a child's life
here at the
orphanage.
You may
choose to
sponsor a
baby, or
one of three
levels of
child
sponsorship...
You don't need to sponsor a child to help the lives of the children here. All donations, small or large assist in purchasing essential items, such as
